Through curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular initiatives, the University of Bridgeport provides a unique setting to prepare future professionals for a world that increasingly demands intercultural literacy and awareness. The University of Bridgeport’s Office of International Programs is dedicated to supporting our community of students by assisting them in taking full advantage of the unique internationalization opportunities at the University of Bridgeport including Study Abroad to better meet the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.
The University prides itself on being one of America’s most international universities. UB’s interest in attracting and supporting a diverse population of domestic and international students dates back five decades. International students feel at home at UB and American students discover the benefit of the University’s international curricular and co-curricular environment. Throughout its history, the University has hosted heads of state, Nobel laureates, high ranking United Nations officials, as well as key figures in international business, technology, and the health sciences. Visitors to the UB campus include Chair of the Drafting Committee of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Eleanor Roosevelt, Civil Rights Leader and Nobel Laureate Dr. Martin Luther King, United Nations Undersecretary General and Nobel Laureate Ralph Bunche, Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chermomyrdin, Uruguayan President Julio Maria Sanguinetti, Albanian President Rexhep Mejdani, and former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Located just one hour from New York and only forty minutes from Stamford, CT (home of the sixth largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States), the University’s programs and course offerings allow our students to experience an international learning environment and make UB a very special place to study and to realize your potential as a global actor. The University holds NGO status with the United Nations Department of Public Information since 2012.
