Dr. Yongbom Kim is an internationally recognized Martial Artist. He earned his undergraduate degree in Taekwondo and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Physical Education with a focus on Martial Arts from Kyung Hee University. Dr. Kim holds a seventh degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has coached and trained Olympic athletes. Professor Kim has a particular interest in the mainstreaming of the Martial Arts as an academic discipline in the West. He has a particular in the Martial Arts tradition of self-cultivation and competition as understood in the context of the Martial Arts. Dr. Kim teaches both practical and theoretical courses such as Survey of Martial Arts, Issues in Martial Arts, Martial Arts School Development, Taekwondo, Self-Defense, and Senior Thesis.
